The leading tech-focused E Ink manufacturer and seller — BOOX is celebrating its 11th anniversary of BOOX this winter season. Founded in 2008, BOOX has grown to an international company with a global reach into more than 80 countries of 4 continents. BOOX is consistently ranked as one of the best brands of E Ink products, and the company regularly earns reputations for its eReader software.
BOOX A60 — the first BOOX in the world
The BOOX eReaders are versatile and mighty in the present day, but do you how does the first BOOX look like? The first BOOX was created in 2009 and called BOOX A60, which was praised at the time thanks to its high-contrast display, 128MB of RAM, 512MB of storage, 298g of weight, 1600mAh of battery, SD slot, Wi-Fi, and 8-level grayscale. It seems dull in comparison to this year’s eReaders, but at that time, it was quite a beast.
From then on, the gross sales of BOOX ramped up and more innovative products were launch out to the market.
BOOX I62 — the first BOOX with front light
In 2012, What’s cool about the I62 is the built-in front light. The front light tech was only available for 6” display at that time. With the front light, users can read comfortably for hours — indoors and outdoors, day and night.
BOOX C65 — the first BOOX with Android OS
It was a big deal! When Kindle was using a Linux-based operating system, BOOX started to employ Android OS for BOOX C65 and all later models. From then on, users can install apps as they do on Android tablets.
BOOX E43 — the first E Ink Smartphone
In 2014, the first BOOX E Ink smartphone was rolled out and caused a thrill among E Ink lovers. Like most smartphones on the market, you can use it to send messages, install apps, listen to music, etc. It’s fairly good news for smartphone addicts. No more eyestrain even you play it for a long time.
BOOX I86 — the first 8-inch BOOX
As BOOX I86 features a 1600X1200 HD display, it’s amazing to use it to read PDFs, TXT, and MS Word documents. No jag, high contrast, everything goes fine.
BOOX Note series
The screen size of the Note series is 10.3 inches. The latest one is BOOX Note2, which has an Octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, OTG support, 5GHz Wi-Fi, better battery, front lights, and runs Android 9.0 OS out of box.
BOOX Max series
The Max series are the largest eReaders on the market. BOOX issued Max3 in 2019. The big selling point of the Max3 is the size of the screen. The 13.3-inch display makes users do not have to zoom in and out while reading A4-size documentations. It has similar specs as BOOX Note2, but what’s more, it can also be used as a secondary monitor.
As you may find that the screen sizes are getting larger and larger as time goes on. This means BOOX is focusing on a niche market for those people who desire a versatile E Ink device to do something else rather than just reading on E Ink display. They are allowed to take notes, do exercises, type, and do some simple office works.
As the largest electronics show in the US — CES 2020 is fast approaching, BOOX always unveils a new product in this show every year. What do you suppose it would be this year?
