Firmware updates are like house decoration for your device— they keep things look better and you will feel more comfortable during use. They also help improve the user interface, enhance security, and remove minor bugs. We recommend updating your firmware whenever a new version is available so you can make sure your BOOX stays in tip-top shape.
If a system update is available, you should download and install it to keep your phone running smoothly.
From Settings, tap the icon of Firmware Update. Tap Check for updates. If an update is available, it will download the update package and automatically install it. Else, it will show “cannot detect any update package”, which means the system is already up to date.
Please notice that if there are too many users updating their BOOX, the connection may not stable. What you need to do is to just start “continue download” which allows you to resume the download at the point it was interrupted.
Another way to get your device updated is to download update packages from BOOX official downloads website.
However, you need to choose the right update package corresponding to your model, sideload it to your BOOX, and click “check for updates”. Trust me, never change the file name, or the system is not able to detect the package.
